Yes, fire truck use a special transmission that doubles as a water pump, which is why most fire trucks cannot pump water and move under their own power at the same time. Interesting for her to notice at her age.
The firetruck info is accurate, btw. We have a beast of a military firetruck on the Reservation that the Air Force donated a while back because they found it undriveable. A true off-road 680 hp firefighter with power to all four axles and both front axles steer. It has a second 200 hp engine so that it can foam a runway or use its remote water cannons while moving. I’m the one one they have willing to drive it.
@ Uncle Bilbo: I had a gut feeling it was accurate info. One of my best friends is an ex-fire fighter (He’s an arson investigator now). Once when I visited his station, I got the chance to see the inside of one of their fire trucks. It was large, though probably still smaller than the beast the Air Force donated. Anyway, the inside was very intimidating and impressive. I tip my hat to you for your willingness to take on driving such a beast. 🙂
Well this is clearly baby Audrey, not the current one. Which is also why she can’t use words to say what’s under the truck. Current Audrey is dreaming this, but it also seems to be a memory. I’d bet this is the outfit she was actually found in, which would be pretty cool 😀 While of course raising the interesting question of where she got it/where she’d come from to be wearing it in the first place, but yeah. Itty bitty Audrey! ^.^
Check out the designs on the mages outfits in the first bit, her clothing matches them almost exactly. Given the match on the spiral design to Corvus’s design i would be willing to be that she is either related to Corvus or the Queen, and the portal was either Corvus’s attempt to save her until she is old enough to beat the queen, or the queens attempt to destroy her. Note that while asa claims corvus attempted to save them, the image shows him running from the beam, indicating either his helplessness or complicity in what happened.
@ORZ: I tend to assume that readers will miss such details (or at least not make the connection) since webcomics move at a significantly slower pace than something like a book. Me personally, I would have totally missed that bit, if I had read it in the form of a webcomic. And so I come away with two thoughts. One, I should stop assuming. And two, your eye for detail is much better than my own. 🙂

Oh wait, there’s something else under there…
Hahaha…nice. Reading this initially caught me off guard. Well done. 🙂

I’m not quite sure what’s up with Audrey’s outfit, but I totally love it.
Yeah, she tends to naturally be a jeans and t-shirt sort of girl. So this attire is a bit out of the norm. 🙂

Ding ding ding! You pretty much nailed it Kaela. 🙂
Oh wait. you’re the author XD Nevermind!
😀
Maybe it’s part of her connection with the heroes-made-puppets?

Methinks it has something to do with her “ability” to bring the puppets to life. Perhaps she’s from their world?
😀
