I am so tempted to state what I think I would do in that situation… but I also am hesitant in case Audrey has the same idea and it ends up being a spoiler.
Well, now that the next page is up, I’ll reply to that. My first go-to would be counting on the parents to solve it. But my back up plan for when the terrible horrible people inevitably intervene and try to stop it is to hand Opon to Nori and have him teleport her outside (of course having discussed this plan with him on the way to the Mercer house). I would also have Vetro ready to create a distraction using wind to knock them over… or even Eldura distract with a small fire they’d have to put out in a hurry. Distractions are wonderful for making escapes after all.
When I first read your back up plan, I immediately thought that it wouldn’t work because ONLY Audrey can bring Opon to life. A minute later (while in a blank stare) I had a EUREKA moment as I realized you were absolutely right. I completely forgot that Audrey had made the puppets independent of her and that Opon most certainly could teleport Nori away. I guess my surprise would indicate something of a spoiler, in regards to your idea. That aside, your back up plan is a good one. 🙂
I’m a bit of a writer and artist myself (with my work currently on deviantart), so I have a tendency to come up with good ideas when thinking about stories, and I am excellent at remembering details.
Always love when people check out my stuff. Once had a huge jump in followers when people found out I took out a few art-thieving websites. That was a pretty good time.
………PLEASE TELL ME THIS ENDS WELL!!!!! (Which knowing this story so far, and how our heroes (not just Audrey, but also her cool parents) have been, I’d be extreme shocked if it was badly ended)
In all seriousness, loving this story more and more, and will be sad when it ends finally. I’ve read a few other web-comics that do end, some cliff-hanged (WHICH REALLY IS A BAD MOVE ON THE WRITER), and some good. Knowing how Ms. Huddleston has been writing, I will assume it’s going to hit the feels. Even when the story ends, please don’t ever stop writing, even if it’s something different. You’ve done well in telling your tales, and would love to, not only to see how this tale (sadly) ends, but further of your creativity.
I’m simply the idea guy (oh and I draw it too). I had the simple idea about puppets coming to life, and the fantastical world they come from. But, I knew I couldn’t write a story good enough to make readers want to come back. So I went and asked my long time friend/writer, Michelle Wright, if she would do it. And after much persuading, begging, and pleading…she said, “I guess so.” Kidding. It went a lot smoother than that. I just wanted to show you how bad my storytelling skills were.:) Anyway, she’s the wordsmith for this story, and it’s been pretty awesome working with her. Oh, and it’s likely that she will try to “hit in the feels.” Thanks for following!
Ah, this is such a greta chapter. Probably one of my favourites right now -w-
Now I have a suspicion (oh god not again). What if.
Well, Audrey got away with keeping Fluffy (big fluffy and seemingly mean but really nice and sweet dog) super easily. And Audrey’s parents (they deserve those titles now after all they’ve been through with her) are super nice. They barely even try and tell Audrey she can’t have puppets, because all three of them accept each other for who they are, which makes them a super loving family. This is one of the most hesrearming stories I’ve ever read. Just to let you know <3
Anyways, back on topic (oh no!). What if..
Nori gets in on that family stuff? More adoption! More friends for Audrey so she isn’t as socially awkward anymore! Another person to help Audrey with helping out The Nine (Because Nori basically knows the puppets are magical, in a way. So Audrey wouldn’t have such a hard time breaking it to her)! Another person…
For to be included in that happy, loving, and wholesome family!
Oh boy, there’s another one of my silly conspiracies.
You conspiracy is actually not all that crazy at all. If we were playing a game called “Guess What Happen Next”, and it was based on being cold (meaning you’re not even close) and hot (meaning you are spot on) I would say…You’re getting warmer. 🙂 That’s as close to a spoiler as I can give.
Yep, you are definitely getting better at this. Though I’m not sure that’s a good thing. I mean, ultimately, we still wanna be able to surprise you. There’s two and a half chapters left to tell this tale. Hopefully by the end you will be satisfied. Some of the material you will likely have guessed. And hopefully, some of it will be a surprise. 🙂
Well, there is also the lady with the van…and the homeless lady Audrey helped when she drew her a picture…and the “wannabe bully” boy that Audrey met when she was doing karate and they sparred over one of her puppets. We haven’t seen some of these people since their first appearance. I wonder how many of them we’ll revisit, and if they may have something to do with where Nori ends up.
I love reunions. And, if I had to choose one to make a reappearance, it would definitely be Beckett the Bully (Ex-Bully). That’s just my opinion though. 😉

I wouldn’t look at it as a spoiler. I would see it as Great Minds Think Alike. 🙂

Guess who’s headed over to your DeviantArt page? 🙂

Nori? One of the companions of Thorin Oakenshield? I will be impressed if we find THAT under the sink!
Ha! Thorin Oakenshield! No…this Nori shares the same name, but hangs with a different crowd. 🙂
Oh dear….

Hey, I’m gettin better at this! Also, I love the little doodles on the inside of the cabinet.
