It seems the puppet-heroes will be influencing people in this world, too. What are the odds bully-boy will relent and maybe even help Audrey find the other puppets?
Ha. I’m not above steering readers away from future story events any chance I get. So is it REALLY completely obvious? Is it a decoy? Or is it actually correct? Doesn’t really matter because I’ve now confused myself with this answer. 😜
Hmmmm…I’m going to make up three possibilities, and hope you buy one.
1. The kid has E.S.P.
2. He’s been stalking her for a very long time.
3. While she was attending aikido, at some point he saw what was in her backpack.
ya, this didn’t go the way i thought it would. i really hope the weekend goes fast so i can see what happens. would be nice if he turned around and gave the puppet to her and apologized.
I appreciate that last panel, I think the kid is just trying to act tough to get attention, and isn’t a horrible jerk all the way to his core, as works of fiction can often convey this archetype of a character.
I figured he was going to buy the puppet for a buck, then offer it to her for ten.
I also expected the woman to charge Audrey for the one she had. “That one’s a dollar too, dear.” When you have a yardsale full of toys, and a kid standing there holding a toy, you kinda expext that it’s one of yours.
Awww. Cute!
Yeah, he’s just trying to look tough.

I would say those odds make a lot of sense. 😄
Aw, c’mon; how about a ‘Spoiler Alert’ before you give away the completely obvious?

How does he know she has three puppets?
