Something tells me that Audrey will be staying on Earth after all!
Hopefully,Jonathan would show Audrey a newspaper article on her former foster family, including a picture of them being lead away in straight jackets. “Social Services to schedule sanity hearing.”
Ouch! That’s a lot of audacity to say they’re not real family! I have friends that have adopted, and everyone of them consider the kids to be their real family, and vice versa.
I was an orphan at age six months; the family who adopted me were the only family I ever knew, until they adopted an abandoned newborn (left in a basket on the parish priest’s front doorstep). I’m all for supporting people who care for others regardless of DNA.
Wow! When I was a kid my Mom used to tell me that it takes a village to raise a child. That’s a bit different than being adopted, of course. But, it helped me as a kid to understand the concept of people, other than the DNA parents, helping to raise a kid. And so like yourself, I very much support those that take care of others, regardless of DNA.
Mother of the heart!

I really like the bonus story! Can’t wait for the last update.
Glad you liked the bonus story! I hope to do more sometime in the future. 😊
*Finally* someone gets it! An adoptee’s real parents are the ones who took them in and loved them. Not the ones that gave them their dna.
(Sorry, you hit a major peeve here. My brother, cousins and BFF are all adopted, and it ticks me off when people say we’re not their real family.)
